Everyone knows what Dubai is. Dubai is one of the best resort cities (if not the best). It contains the highest and most luxurious buildings in the world, the most expensive cars rush through the streets of Dubai. Of course, you understand what is about, this is the new Spec Ops: The Line, but I also want to mention its predecessors.
SPEC OPS game rather old first part of which appeared back in 1998. and was called Spec Ops: Ranges Lead the Way. It was a tactical shooter with a view from the 1st/3rd person. The first part of the game was released exclusively for PC. The subsequent series were also on the PlayStation One and Dreamcast. They were little different by the plot, you, as usual, are a soldier of elite troops, you have a task that you need to complete.
And so the new Spec OPS: The Line appeared, which is by an order of magnitude higher than its predecessors not only according to the schedule, but also in the plot component.

The whole story is shown on the face of the US Army captain of the elite detachment of Delta Martin Waker. Waker and two soldiers are sent to Dubai, who, after a strong sandstone, became not suitable for life. It is clear that all the important people have already evacuated from it, and now there were “ordinary mortals” who have become looters and bandits. Colonel Konrad and his 33rd battalion, who disobeyed the order, was sent to the city during the evacuation and remained after the evacuation to help local residents. From this moment, the connection was interrupted with him, and after there was not a single radiogram. After some time, a weak signal comes from Colonel Konrad, and a detachment under the command of Waker is sent to Dubai in order to find out what happened in the city. Having got into the city on the detachment, the local militia detachments immediately attack. And from this moment the complete confusion begins in what is happening. Walker has to figure out who the villain is and who is not.
The atmosphere of a real action movie does not let you get bored. With the exception of the screensaver, our heroes will not be in vain with the tongue. Spec Ops: The Line is a game of action, here there are always bullets above your head, and the sand clogs into all places. Yes, about sand and sand storms, they play a lot of important role in the gameplay. For example, during a sandstorm (which will be a lot), you can hide from the enemy, or take advantage of the situation and conduct a counter attack. When you throw a grenade, it will not be just an explosion, an explosion on the sand will also create a curtain that will hide you and often get to the opponents for the bosom and in the face, which significantly gives a tactical advantage over the enemy. Plus everything, on locations scattered places where you can interact with the environment. For example, you are in a building, outside of which a storm rages, and there are few cartridges (by the way, there are very few in the ammunition game and you can’t find them at every angle, so it’s better to save them), the most just way to deal with the crowd of enemies is just to shoot this glass and then the enemy’s sand will simply fall asleep to death to death. Firstly, these are much fewer cartridges than shooting at opponents alone. Secondly, this will destroy all enemies in the zone.
Since the action does not take place in a simple desert, but in the city, which was taken by surprise, a sandstone, several surprises await us. Like you move along the sands and, seeing a simple and unpretentious mound of sand ahead, approaching the edge of which it turns out that you are unknown on which floor of the next high -rise and, looking down, you will not even see the earth. Or there is no sand or earth around you, you are just on the roof of the building, and around you clouds.
But like all games, there are shortcomings here. I have not noticed big problems, but one small thing in the game really strained me. During the screensaver, the characters animation are worthy, but during the game when the Walker shouts (it is screaming) to his partners, the slightest concern of what is happening around him will not appear on his face. Only the lips will move, but nothing more, he will not even turn his eyes to the side. A sort of “super brutal”, which knows how to scream, barely opening his mouth and who pretends that he doesn’t need to simply do not care about everything around and bother.
And of course, these are sandy storms, which are so crept in that being in an open area where there are no storms you can stand for an hour and two, but the storm will not come, but going out to another zone where they clearly shout that it will come close to it. And it does not matter that the storm was just not the previous location, the developers decided – “a storm is needed” and it is impossible to get away from this. Although you do not pay attention to this, because you are busy with a constant meat grinder of opponents.
In general, the project turned out to be worthy of its predecessors, except that the hardcore that was inherent in Spec OPS disappeared somewhere, and now it’s enough just to go forward.
